About the Role
We are looking for an experienced, reliable, and motivated Breakfast & Lunch Chef to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality breakfast and lunch dishes while maintaining excellent standards of presentation, food safety, cleanliness, and kitchen organisation.
This role is ideal for a chef who enjoys working in a busy restaurant environment, can manage morning preparation efficiently, and takes pride in producing fresh, consistent food.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present breakfast and lunch dishes to a consistently high standard.
- Complete daily food preparation before and during service.
- Manage your section efficiently during busy service periods.
- Prepare items such as eggs, breakfast dishes, salads, brunch dishes, sauces, vegetables and daily specials.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared according to restaurant recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
- Monitor stock levels and inform management of ingredients that need to be ordered.
- Receive, check, and correctly store food deliveries.
- Rotate stock using FIFO procedures and minimise food waste.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation throughout the kitchen.
- Follow all food hygiene, allergen, health and safety.
- Ensure food is stored, labelled, dated, and temperature-controlled correctly.
- Assist with menu development and seasonal specials where required.
- Work closely with front-of-house and other kitchen team members to ensure smooth and timely service.
- Maintain kitchen equipment and report any faults or maintenance requirements.
- Complete opening, closing, and cleaning duties as required.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a Breakfast Chef, Brunch Chef, Chef de Partie, Line Cook, or similar restaurant kitchen role.
- Strong breakfast and lunch cooking skills.
- Ability to work quickly and calmly during busy service periods.
- Good knife skills and food preparation knowledge.
- Strong understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety.
- Good knowledge of allergens and dietary requirements.
- Excellent organisation and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional.
- Passion for fresh ingredients and high-quality food.
Requirements
- Relevant professional kitchen experience.
- Food Hygiene Certificate preferred.
- Knowledge of HACCP and food safety procedures.
- Ability to work mornings, weekends, and bank holidays as required.
- Ability to work on your feet for extended periods and safely handle normal kitchen equipment and supplies.
Working Hours
The role will primarily involve morning and daytime shifts, covering breakfast preparation, breakfast service, lunch preparation and lunch service.
Typical shifts may include approximately (9am-4pm)
