The Role:
The Faculty of Science and Health is looking to recruit Sessional Teaching Fellows to contribute to the delivery, administration and assessment of elements of programmes delivered within the School of the Environment and Life Sciences at undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) level, as well as providing pastoral support to students in the form of tutorials.
We are seeking Sessional Teaching Fellows to support teaching on the UG and PG Economic Geology provision within the School of the Environment and Life Sciences
The number of hours worked is flexible and by negotiation. If you have experience of teaching and assessment within a Higher Education setting, in a relevant subject area, and are keen to use those skills to enhance our current provision, we would be interested to receive an application from you.
The assessment process consists of a micro-teach that will take place in the morning followed by interviews in the afternoon. You will prepare and deliver a micro-teach (workshop) to a small group. Please note this is a two-stage process and you must pass the micro-teach assessment to progress to the interview stage. Salary Information:
New appointments will routinely be made to the entry spine point (minimum) for the advertised grade, from where the individual will (in addition to receiving annual cost-of-living-related increases) progress through the pay range to the maximum for the grade, within a reasonable timeframe. This ensures fairness, consistency and transparency in our pay structures. A higher starting salary or market supplement may be available for a truly exceptional candidate when circumstances fully justify a departure from our normal policy.
