Working Monday to Friday start could be from 16:00 and a finish time between approximately 03:00 & 04:30, this role will be responsible for completing night routes to the various hubs or customer.
Main responsibilities:
- Safely operate and drive Class 1 vehicles in compliance with all road traffic regulations.
- Conduct pre and post use vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
- Report any defects or maintenance issues promptly.
- Efficiently load and unload palletised goods using appropriate equipment (such as Tail lifts/pump trucks) and following safety protocols.
- Ensure accurate counting and recording of goods during the loading/unloading process.
- Utilise GPS and other navigation tools to navigate routes accurately and report route concerns as and when they occur.
- Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and on time, including delivery notes, vehicle checks and other relevant documentation.
- Maintain proper records of delivered and collected goods.
- Interact professionally with customers during the delivery/collection processes.
- Represent the company positively and uphold excellent customer service standards.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures as well as relevant industry regulations.
- Any ADHOC work required in the yard such as pressure washing vehicles.
What we are looking for...
Profile:
- You will need to be flexible with start and finish times as these depend on business needs.
- Technical competencies:
- Valid Class 1 driving license
- Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Proven experience as a Class 1 Driver in a logistics or transportation role
- Good knowledge of road and safety regulations and traffic laws.
