Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Coordinator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the flow of goods, ensuring timely and efficient shipping and receiving processes. This position requires strong analytical skills, effective communication, and a solid understanding of logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee shipping and receiving activities to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Utilise Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to track shipments and manage logistics operations.
- Collaborate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to optimise supply chain efficiency.
- Analyse logistics data to identify trends, improve processes, and reduce costs.
- Maintain accurate records through data entry and management systems.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to resolve any issues related to shipments.
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when liaising with clients and vendors.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies regarding logistics operations.
Import & Export Compliance
- Manage daily import and export movements for overseas goods to meet operational and project deadlines.
- Prepare and maintain import/export documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, customs entries, and proof of export.
- Liaise with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and hauliers to coordinate shipments and resolve customs or transport issues.
- Ensure correct use of Incoterms, commodity codes, duties, and VAT treatments.
- Maintain accurate records in line with HMRC and audit requirements.
- Act as the first point of contact for import/export queries across the business.
Experience & Skills
- Proven experience in logistics or supply chain management is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of shipping and receiving processes.
- Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and 3PL operations is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data effectively.
- Proficient in data entry with attention to detail.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on professional phone etiquette.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
