Job Summary
Lost in Leith, which is run by Campervan Brewery is currently undergoing some exciting changes and we have recently launched our cafe and evening food menu. Due to demand and increasing our opening hours, we are seeking a friendly and efficient Part-time Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, preparing food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. This role offers flexible hours suitable for students or those seeking part-time (afternoon and evening) work, with an emphasis on delivering a positive experience to our customers.
Responsibilities
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring prompt service
- Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including coffee, tea, and speciality drinks, adhering to quality standards
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches, salads, or snacks as required
- Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including tables, counters, and equipment
- Ensure food safety standards are consistently met in accordance with health regulations
- Restock supplies and organise stock to ensure smooth operations during shifts
- Provide friendly assistance to customers, answering questions about menu items and dietary options
- This role will involve evening and weekend work.
Skills
- Experience as a barista or in a similar food service role is desirable
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Excellent serving skills with a friendly and approachable manner
- Basic food preparation skills and understanding of hygiene standards
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy periods
- Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks efficiently during shifts

Pay: £13.45 per hour
