The Waggon Pub is a busy, welcoming village pub known for serving quality, freshly prepared food in a friendly atmosphere. We're looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Chef de Partie or Sous Chef to join our team and play a key role in delivering consistently excellent food.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys being part of a close-knit team. In our kitchen, everyone works together, so alongside cooking and food preparation you'll also help with the day-to-day running of the kitchen, including cleaning, washing up and keeping work areas organised to the highest standards.
What You'll Be Doing
- Preparing and cooking high-quality pub classics and daily specials.
- Supporting the Head Chef with the smooth running of kitchen service.
- Assisting with stock rotation, food preparation and kitchen organisation.
- Helping deliver our popular Sunday roast service.
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene and health & safety standards.
- Supporting the wider kitchen team with general kitchen porter duties when required.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Chef de Partie, Senior Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.
- Experience preparing traditional Sunday roasts is highly desirable.
- A positive attitude with a willingness to get involved in all aspects of kitchen operations.
- Ability to stay calm and organised during busy service periods.
- Strong understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety.
- A team player who takes pride in producing great food.
