About RGC Dynamo
RGC Dynamo is a competitive rhythmic gymnastics club competing at National level. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Squad Coach to work alongside the Head Coach in developing our gymnasts and supporting the club’s competitive programme.
This is an opportunity for a coach who is passionate about rhythmic gymnastics, has strong technical knowledge, and wants to contribute to the development of ambitious young gymnasts within a supportive and professional environment.
The Role
Working closely with the Head Coach, the Squad Coach will assist with the day-to-day coaching and development of gymnasts, helping prepare athletes for competitions and supporting their technical, physical and artistic progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Coach with planning and delivering high-quality rhythmic gymnastics training sessions.
- Coach and develop gymnasts across relevant age groups and levels.
- Choreograph and develop competitive routines, including individual routines and/or group work where required.
- Have a strong understanding of FIG Code of Points rules and regulations and apply them appropriately when developing routines.
- Demonstrate, explain and develop masteries, elements, risks and other technical components of routines.
- Help gymnasts understand and improve their execution, technique, artistry and difficulty.
- Plan and deliver appropriate supporting exercises, conditioning and preparation exercises to develop gymnasts' strength, flexibility, coordination, balance, apparatus handling and technical abilities.
- Identify areas for improvement and work with gymnasts on targeted technical development.
- Support preparation for competitions, including routine preparation, run-throughs and competition readiness.
- Work collaboratively with the Head Coach and follow the club's coaching methodology and standards.
- Maintain a positive, professional and encouraging coaching environment.
- Promote good discipline, teamwork, professionalism and sportsmanship.
- Follow all club safeguarding, health and safety and other relevant policies and procedures.
Essential Requirements
The successful candidate must have:
- Minimum UKCC Level 1 qualification in Rhythmic Gymnastics.
- Be actively working towards UKCC Level 2 or demonstrate a clear commitment to progressing their coaching qualification.
- Previous working experience in rhythmic gymnastics coaching, preferably within a competitive environment.
- Strong knowledge of the FIG Code of Points and current rhythmic gymnastics rules.
- Ability to confidently explain and demonstrate masteries, elements, risks and technical requirements.
- Experience or strong ability in choreographing competitive routines.
- Strong understanding of supporting exercises and physical preparation required to develop young rhythmic gymnasts.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a coaching team and take direction from the Head Coach.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to children and young athletes.
- A professional, responsible and positive approach to coaching.
- Commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of children and young people.
Desirable
The following would be advantageous:
- Judging qualification and/or current judging experience.
- Experience coaching gymnasts competing at regional, national or higher level.
- Experience preparing gymnasts for competitions.
- Strong choreography and musicality skills.
- Experience with group routines.
- Additional relevant coaching, safeguarding, first aid or sports qualifications.
- Experience working with different age groups and ability levels.

We are looking for someone who is technically strong, reliable, proactive and passionate about developing gymnasts.
The ideal candidate will be able to work independently when required while also working closely with the Head Coach to ensure consistency in coaching and athlete development.
Most importantly, we are looking for a coach who genuinely enjoys working with children and young athletes and is committed to helping them progress both as gymnasts and as individuals.
