Let's be honest, care isn't for everyone. It's for people who genuinely enjoy making someone's day a little brighter, don't mind rolling up their sleeves, and understand that the little things often mean the most.
We're looking for a reliable, kind-hearted Night Care Assistant to join our friendly team. Experience in care is a bonus, but it's not everything. If you've got transferable skills, a great work ethic, and a genuine passion for looking after people, we'd love to hear from you.
We're a small, independently run care home, which means no feeling like just another number. We know our staff, we listen to them, and we're always looking at ways to make our home an even better place to live and work.
In fact, we're rather proud to have been awarded North Care Home of the Year 2025 at the Caring UK Awards, an achievement that reflects the incredible team we've built together. No two nights are exactly the same, but your role will include:
- Providing compassionate, person-centred care to our residents.
- Supporting residents with personal care, comfort and dignity throughout the night.
- Helping create a calm, safe and welcoming environment.
- Completing routine checks and responding to residents' needs.
- Working as part of a close-knit night team.
- Carrying out a little housekeeping and cleaning to help keep the home looking its best.
- Keeping accurate records and communicating effectively with colleagues.
Above all, you'll help make our residents feel safe, respected and at home.
What we're looking for
We're much more interested in attitude than ticking every box. You'll probably be someone who is reliable and turns up ready to work. You'll need to be kind, patient and respectful and happy working as part of a supportive team. We're looking for people who are passionate about giving older people the quality of life they deserve, and who is calm under pressure and able to use your initiative.
Care experience is preferred, but we'll happily consider applicants with strong transferable skills from customer service, hospitality, healthcare, education or other people-focused roles. If you're the sort of person people describe as dependable, caring and someone who just gets on with things, you'll fit in well here.
