We are supporting an established and well-regarded UK food manufacturer with the appointment of an experienced
National Account Manager. With multiple UK manufacturing sites, an established international supply network and a strong presence across the UK retail market, the business is continuing to invest in its commercial growth.
This is a commercially focused opportunity for an experienced food/FMCG National Account Manager to take ownership of major UK retail accounts, strengthen customer relationships and deliver sustainable, profitable sales and category growth.
- Please note this client does not offer visa sponsorship. Candidates must have full Right to Work in the UK, a full UK driving license, and direct Account Management experience within the food & beverages sector.
Role Overview
Due to continued growth and the evolution of the commercial structure, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a
National Account Manager to join the business.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for a portfolio of established UK retail accounts, working closely with buyers and senior customer stakeholders to develop account strategies, identify new opportunities and deliver growth across sales, margin and distribution.
This role is specifically suited to an experienced National Account Manager who has managed
major UK retail/supermarket accounts within food manufacturing or FMCG and is looking for an opportunity to take ownership of significant customer relationships within an established and growing business.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a portfolio of key UK retail customer accounts.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with buyers and senior customer stakeholders.
- Develop and implement account plans aligned with customer and business objectives.
- Identify and deliver opportunities for profitable sales, margin, category and range growth.
- Lead customer meetings, presentations, negotiations, trade events and occasional supplier visits.
- Monitor account performance, commercial activity and profitability, taking appropriate action to maximise results.
- Work closely with Technical, Production, NPD and wider internal teams to deliver customer requirements.
- Identify opportunities for new business and further growth within existing customer relationships.
- Ensure consistently high levels of customer service and stakeholder engagement.
About You
- Proven experience as a National Account Manager within food manufacturing or FMCG.
- Strong track record managing UK supermarket and major retail accounts.
- Experience managing commercial relationships with retail buyers and key customer stakeholders.
- Demonstrable success delivering sales, margin and account growth.
- Strong understanding of the UK food retail environment.
- Commercially astute with excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Experience working cross-functionally with Technical, Production and NPD teams.
- Organised, adaptable and confident operating in a fast-paced commercial environment.
- Comfortable with occasional UK and international travel.
