Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and physically fit warehouse worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling materials, managing stock, and supporting shipping and receiving operations within a busy warehouse environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience or mechanical knowledge to develop their skills further. The position involves heavy lifting and requires attention to safety protocols to ensure smooth daily operations. The role can be expanded into working with our installation team and travelling nationwide to install racking.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment, including forklifts where qualified
- Manage stock levels through accurate stocking, picking, and packing of items
- Operate warehouse management systems (WMS) such as AS400 to track inventory movements
- Assist in shipping and receiving activities, ensuring timely dispatch and receipt of goods
- Handle materials safely and efficiently, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Maintain organisation of the warehouse space, ensuring a clean and safe working environment
- Support in construction or maintenance tasks as needed, utilising mechanical knowledge where applicable
- Perform regular checks on equipment and report any faults or issues promptly
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse operations, including stock management and materials handling
- Competence in operating forklift trucks (certification preferred)
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems such as AS400 or similar platforms
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic repairs or maintenance tasks
- Strong physical endurance for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or walking within the warehouse
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail during picking, packing, and inventory control
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures and safety standards in a warehouse setting
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
