The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our growing Site & Ground Investigation team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an established geotechnical professional who is ready to take on greater responsibility across project delivery, client liaison and technical leadership. You'll play a key role in delivering ground investigation projects, supporting graduate engineers and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest technical standards.
Working closely with Project Managers, operational teams and clients, you'll help deliver a varied portfolio of projects across rail and wider infrastructure sectors.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting project delivery to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and in line with agreed scopes and programmes
- Providing technical leadership and guidance to engineers, technicians and site teams
- Undertaking both field and office based work
- Producing, reviewing and approving technical reports and investigation documentation
- Managing client relationships throughout project delivery
- Monitoring project performance and providing progress updates to Project Managers and senior leadership
- Supporting the development and mentoring of junior engineers and graduates
- Undertaking safety critical duties where trained and competent
- Promoting Bridgeway's commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement
What We're Looking For
- Degree qualified in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, Geology, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Significant experience within ground investigation, geotechnical engineering or infrastructure sectors
- Strong understanding of geotechnical investigation techniques, reporting and project delivery
- Experience managing multiple projects and coordinating resources effectively
- Excellent client facing and communication skills
- Ability to lead, mentor and develop engineering teams
- Commercial awareness and understanding of project performance and cost management
- Experience working within rail environments would be advantageous
- IOSH Working Safely, IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent health and safety qualification desirable
- Relevant rail competencies or willingness to obtain them
- Full UK driving licence
- Flexible approach to working patterns, including occasional nights, weekends and working away as required
