Hours of Work: 8:30am-3:30pm Mon, Wed, Thurs and Fri, 8:30am- 4:30pm Tuesday
Salary: NJC Scale 4 SP 7-11 (FTE £26,402 - £28,141 / Actual £19,988 - £21,304 per annum)
We have a unique and extremely exciting opportunity to be part of the team of a brand-new school which opened in September 2025. We are looking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant who will play a central role supporting the growth and development of the school.
As part of the Unity Schools Partnership multi-academy trust, the school is be part of a collaborative, forward thinking group of 40 schools. Eventually, the school will have the capacity for 420 pupils.
You will need to be a motivated and passionate individual with a kind heart. This role is ideal for an individual with experience of supporting children with SEND and who wants to make a difference. You will work well as a team and have the ambition for all children to thrive. The role will vary some days so you will be adaptable to change and enjoy variation in your role. Training will be offered as part of the role.
The role will include:
- overseeing and developing the Apple Tree provision, which will initially be an accessible base for children who need a less stimulating environment
- to deliver interventions for pupils
- maintaining the environment in the Apple Tree provision to support the needs of the children accessing the space
- delivering small group and 1:1 interventions for pupils including sensory circuits and Attention Autism
- supporting children with pupil specific targets
- Ieading a class to cover where needed
- supporting pupils with SEND in the mainstream classroom environment
- liaising with external professionals, the class teacher and the SENDCo to plan the needs of pupils
- supporting with the implementation of SEND plans and APDRs
The ideal candidate would have:
- experience of working in a primary school (essential)
- experience of working in EYFS (desirable)
- Thrive Practitioner training (desirable)
- ELSA training (desirable)
- a strong understanding of and experience of working with children with SEND
- experience of speech and language support (desirable)
- experience of working with children with SEND (essential)
- experience of supporting children with interventions and measuring the impact
- willingness to partake in training and implement in the school experience of safeguarding children in a school
- Strong relational skills
- Excellent attendance
