Job Introduction
As part of our preparation for CQC registration, we are reviewing all compliance documentation for our staff team. We appreciate that many of you will already have completed much of this, and that this may feel like a frustrating process. However, the information requested must be provided in full and recorded accurately, so we will be enrolling all staff who were recruited before the new platform was introduced to ensure consistency across the board.
Please note the following:
Employment History – CQC requires us to hold a full employment history, recorded separately from your CV. This must cover your entire employment record since you first left education, with an explanation provided for any gap in employment of 30 days or more.
References – We are also required to obtain a reference from every previous role in which you worked with vulnerable individuals. There is no time limit on how far back this applies, so those of you with a long history in social care or related fields may need to provide a number of references. If you have difficulty sourcing contact details for a previous employer, a general HR contact is acceptable, as these are not performance-related references. At minimum, each reference must confirm your dates of employment and disclose any safeguarding or disciplinary concerns.
Before we request these references, you will have the opportunity to disclose any previous disciplinary action, dismissal, or ended probationary period yourself. We would encourage you to use this opportunity, as this kind of information may in any case come to light once references are requested.
We understand this process is frustrating, and we will do what we can to support you through any issues that come up. That said, this is a requirement under CQC regulations, and any staff member without a complete record containing all required information will not be able to complete shifts once the organisation is registered with CQC.
