We're looking for an enthusiastic, hands-on and customer-focused Garden Centre Retail Manager to join our team and help support the continued success and growth of our business.
This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. Working closely with the Directors and wider management team, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the garden centre, helping to ensure smooth operations, high retail standards and an exceptional customer experience.
Your responsibilities will include leading and supporting the team, managing staff rotas and holiday requests, overseeing the till and payment areas during busy periods, maintaining high visual merchandising standards, and ensuring seasonal displays are attractive, well-stocked and commercially effective. You'll also be involved in recruitment, training, customer service, administration, and helping to drive sales and achieve business objectives.
We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people and leading from the front. You'll be organised, approachable and commercially aware, with the ability to motivate a team and build strong working relationships. Previous retail management or supervisory experience is essential and garden centre experience would be advantageous.
While an interest in plants and gardening would be a great bonus, it's certainly not a requirement. We're more interested in finding someone with strong leadership skills, a positive attitude and a genuine commitment to delivering excellent customer service. Full support and training will be provided to help you develop your horticultural knowledge and understanding of our business.

Additional Information:
- Full-time, permanent position
- Flexibility to work weekends is required, with weekend shifts scheduled as part of a shared management rota.
- Driving licence and reliable transport are essential
- This is an active role involving time spent on your feet, with some lifting and carrying required
