Games Workshop has an exciting opportunity for an Art Manager to lead our Warhammer Age of Sigmar illustration team, helping a talented group of artists produce outstanding artwork for the books and games our hobbyists love.
You will be highly organised, passionate about Age of Sigmar and committed to helping other people do their best work. You will set clear expectations for the team, give honest and constructive feedback and provide art direction where needed. You will set high standards for quality and delivery, while creating an environment where talented illustrators can learn, improve and produce work they are proud of.
You will enjoy working with others and getting stuck in to solve problems. Working closely with Product Developers and Planners, you will plan the team’s workload, make good decisions about where to focus its time and make sure projects are delivered to the quality we expect and when we need them. You will also work closely with Marketing, Licensing and teams across Games Workshop, listening to different points of view and making clear decisions when needed.
You will have a strong background in illustration, excellent artistic judgement and a deep understanding of what makes great Warhammer artwork. Most importantly, you will be passionate about Age of Sigmar and excited by the opportunity to help shape how its worlds, characters and stories are brought to life. You will be comfortable giving and receiving feedback, willing to learn from others and able to explain creative decisions clearly to artists and non-artists alike.
If you care about great artwork, love Age of Sigmar and want to help a talented team produce their best work, we’d love to hear from you.
At Games Workshop we are looking for people who will do their best to understand the needs of the company and to put those needs first when they are at work. Because of this we believe that what you are like, hence the attitude you show to work and the way you choose to behave is even more important than your skills and experience.
The Warhammer World site is based just outside of Nottingham city centre and benefits from a nearby tram stop and free onsite car parking.
In return for your hard work, you will receive 33 days holiday per year (including public holidays), matching contributory pension scheme up to 7.5%, profit share bonus (subject to GW meeting profit targets) and option to join our Share Save scheme. Oh and let’s not forget, a staff discount of between 25% and 50% on our products!
