Airedale Fencing Ltd is looking for a fully experienced Gate Automation & Access Control Engineer to lead this side of our business. We install, service and maintain automated gates, barriers and access control (including Paxton) across our commercial, education and industrial client base. Our typical patch is West Yorkshire and the surrounding areas, working out of our Bradford yard.
We're a small, close-knit team, so this role is more than just another pair of hands. We're looking for someone reliable who takes real pride in their work and is here for the long term, someone whose own goals line up with where the business is heading and who genuinely wants to help build something. You would lead this side of the operation from the start, with real scope to grow it as the company grows.
What you'll be doing:
Installing, servicing and fault-finding automated gates, barriers and access control systems, including Paxton
Maintaining our servicing schedule: planned bi-annual visits across our client base
Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on-site, often independently
Liaising directly with site contacts, school premises teams and facilities managers
Keeping accurate job records, work orders and compliance paperwork
Occasional site surveys and parts ordering
What we're looking for:
Proven experience installing and servicing gate automation and access control systems (Paxton experience strongly preferred)
18th Edition or relevant electrical experience (essential)
Relevant industry cards and certifications for this work (essential)
Confident working independently and managing your own diary of jobs
Full UK driving licence
Willing and able to obtain an Enhanced DBS check (we work on schools and education sites), we will support the check if you do not already hold one
Good communication skills, comfortable dealing with clients face to face
What we offer:
£40,000 to £50,000 per year depending on experience
Company van, fuel card, power tools and uniform provided
Workplace pension
Full-time, permanent role based out of our Bradford yard (BD10 8SX)
No weekend work as standard (unless otherwise agreed)
Join a well-established, growing business
For the right person, we would also consider a self-employed subcontract arrangement instead of a permanent role, if that suits you better. We are open to discussions to ensure the role suits both parties.
