Featherstone Fencing Ltd is looking for a reliable, hardworking and physically fit Labourer to join our growing team.
We carry out a wide range of work across the region, including fencing, brickwork, paving, drainage, landscaping and general groundworks. The successful applicant will work as part of a team and assist with a variety of tasks on residential sites.
You will be required to report to our yard in Essington (WV11) each morning and return to the yard at the end of the working day. The working hours are Monday - Friday, 7.00am-4.30pm, occasional Saturday work.
The Role
The role will involve supporting our skilled operatives and helping to ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Typical duties will include:
- Loading and unloading materials and equipment.
- Mixing concrete, mortar, and other materials.
- Digging and assisting with excavation and groundworks.
- Assisting with fencing installations and removals.
- Assisting with brickwork, paving and slabbing.
- Assisting with drainage and landscaping works.
- Preparing work areas and keeping sites clean and tidy.
- Loading waste and materials onto vehicles.
- Cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment.
- Collecting and delivering materials from builders' merchants when required.
- Following instructions from supervisors and experienced tradesmen.
- Working safely and following company RAMS and site requirements.
- Carrying out any other reasonable labouring duties required to complete the job.
The Person
We are looking for someone who is:
- Reliable and punctual.
- Hardworking and willing to get stuck in.
- Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual work throughout the working day.
- A good team player who works well with others.
- Able to follow instructions and work safely.
- Practical and willing to learn new skills.
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Presentable and respectful when working at clients' properties.
- Comfortable working across different types of sites and carrying out varied work.
Driving Licence - A full UK driving licence is highly desirable, as the role may involve collecting materials from builders' merchants and other suppliers using company vehicles.
Experience - Previous experience in fencing, landscaping, groundworks, brickwork or construction would be an advantage, but it is not essential for the right person. A good attitude, reliability and willingness to work are more important. Please do not apply if you do not have experience in this role.
