Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Early Years Practitioner to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the development and well-being of young children within a nurturing and stimulating environment. This position offers an opportunity to utilise your management and leadership skills while working closely with children, families, and colleagues to promote early childhood education standards. The ideal applicant will have a passion for working with children, excellent communication skills, and relevant nursery experience.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organise, and deliver engaging activities that support children's developmental needs in accordance with early years curriculum standards.
- Supervise and monitor children's behaviour, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Foster a warm, inclusive, and stimulating environment that encourages learning through play.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop individualised learning plans and assess children's progress regularly.
- Maintain accurate records of children's development and daily activities in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress, behaviour, and any concerns.
- Lead by example in promoting best practices in childcare management and early childhood education.
- Support the induction and mentoring of new staff members, contributing to team management and leadership initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and nursery procedures.
- Assist with organising outings or transportation when required, including driving responsibilities if applicable.
Qualifications
- recognised qualification in early childhood education or childcare (e.g., NVQ Level 2 in Childcare or equivalent).
- Proven nursery experience working with young children in a similar setting.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities coupled with excellent organisational abilities.
- Exceptional communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of current legislation relating to childcare and early years development standards.
- Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting children or attending external activities.
