Clark Wood are currently recruiting for an Accounts Semi Senior to join a growing and well-established accountancy practice based in Liskeard, Cornwall.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accounts Assistant, Accounts Semi Senior or AAT qualified accountant looking to progress their career within a supportive practice environment.
Working with a varied portfolio of SME clients, sole traders and limited companies, you will gain exposure to a broad range of accounts and tax work while developing your technical skills and taking on increasing client responsibility.
The Role
As an Accounts Semi Senior, your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
- Producing management accounts and supporting financial reports.
- Preparing corporation tax computations and assisting with tax compliance work.
- Preparing and reviewing VAT returns.
- Completing bookkeeping duties using cloud accounting software including Xero, Sage and QuickBooks.
- Maintaining accurate working papers and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Dealing directly with client queries and providing day-to-day accounting support.
- Assisting with reviewing and mentoring junior members of the team where required.
- Supporting Managers and Partners with ad hoc assignments and client projects.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- 2+ years' experience working within a UK accountancy practice.
- AAT qualified, studying towards ACA / ACCA, or qualified by experience.
- Previous experience preparing accounts with limited supervision.
- Good knowledge of accounts preparation, VAT and basic tax compliance.
- Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero, Sage or QuickBooks.
- Excellent communication skills with a proactive approach to client service.
