About the Role
We are a warm, welcoming family looking for a caring, reliable and energetic nanny to support us during the arrival of our newest baby.
Initially, this is a six-week temporary position; however, for the right person there may be an opportunity for the role to continue beyond this period.
This is a self-employed position, and you will be responsible for managing your own tax and National Insurance contributions. Payment will be made on a fortnightly (bi-weekly) basis.
You will be caring for a maximum of two children at any one time in a fun, safe and nurturing environment. While our usual working hours are 9:00am–3:00pm, there may occasionally be a need for an earlier start, so some flexibility would be appreciated.
Responsibilities
Your role will include:
- Providing attentive, loving care for up to two children
- Preparing simple, nutritious breakfasts, lunches and healthy snacks
- Planning fun, engaging and age-appropriate activities throughout the day
- Taking the children to local parks, soft play centres, libraries or similar outings
- Encouraging learning, creativity and outdoor play
- Supporting children’s routines, including naps where appropriate
- Keeping children’s play areas tidy and organised
- Washing up after meals and leaving the kitchen clean after food preparation
- Building a positive, happy and stimulating environment where the children can thrive
We’re Looking For Someone Who Is:
- Warm, kind and patient
- Reliable and punctual
- Trustworthy and responsible
- Energetic and enjoys engaging with young children
- Organised and able to use their own initiative
- Comfortable taking children on local outings and keeping them active
- Experienced in childcare (professional or significant personal experience preferred)
A current DBS check, First Aid qualification and references would be advantageous, although not essential for the right candidate.
