Alarmtec are seeking a Fire Alarm Estimator/Designer to join our expanding team. This position is based on site at our head office in Exeter.
At Alarmtec, we recognise that our employees are our greatest asset. As such, we are offering a £4,500 sign-on bonus to new employees that apply to us directly. Half of this joining bonus will be paid upon the successful completion of the probationary period, with the remainder paid following a further two months with the company.
We will also consider an applicant with extensive knowledge as an Installation Engineer who is looking to make the move into an office based position.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Design and prepare quotations for fire detection and alarm systems / life safety systems.
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for additions, expansions, upgrades and ongoing maintenance for both new and existing clients.
- Prepare all documentation to meet the company standards to include sign off.
- Attend client sites throughout the country in order to assess fire detection and alarm systems / life safety systems requirements under BS5839.
- Assess H&S aspects on site to provide information for RAMS.
- Create technical drawings and layouts using design software and CAD programs.
The ideal candidate will have:
- FIA Design Module
- Site experience of fire alarm installations
- Working knowledge of BS5839
- Experience of open protocol fire alarm systems
- Electrical design with fire alarm element
- The ability to work to time sensitive deadlines
- Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
- H&S site experience
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Working knowledge of CAD design & design calculation software
- Working knowledge of BS5839
