About Jargo
Jargo is a neighbourhood pizza and coffee spot on the New King's Road in Fulham. We serve pizza and brunch. As we grow, we're looking for people who care as much about the guest experience as we do.
The Role
We're looking for a dynamic, motivated Assistant Manager to help lead the floor and the team day to day. You'll be the General Manager's right hand — keeping service running smoothly, motivating the team, hitting sales targets, and making sure every guest leaves happy. It's a hands-on role for someone ready to grow their management career in a fast-paced hospitality setting.
What You'll Do
- Support the General Manager in running smooth, well-organised daily operations across the floor, bar, and kitchen pass.
- Lead, supervise, and motivate the front-of-house team — setting the pace during service and helping everyone do their best work.
- Drive sales and covers: track daily performance, spot opportunities, and help roll out ideas that grow revenue and average spend.
- Deliver standout guest experiences — handle questions, feedback, and the occasional hiccup calmly, professionally, and quickly.
- Keep the space looking its best: menu presentation, counter and display standards, cleanliness, and brand consistency throughout the day.
- Build rotas, coordinate training and inductions, and monitor attendance and punctuality to keep the team running well.
- Handle the admin that keeps a site healthy: stock control, ordering support, cash and till reconciliation, and daily reporting.
- Uphold food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards, and follow company policies and procedures at all times.
- Foster a positive, supportive team culture through clear communication and lead-by-example energy.
- Open and close the site as a keyholder and take ownership of shifts in the manager's absence.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Supervisory or management experience in hospitality, food & beverage, retail, or a similar fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
- Strong organisational skills — able to prioritise and stay calm under pressure during a busy service.
- Excellent communication skills, spoken and written, with a warm, guest-first approach.
- Natural leadership: experience motivating a team and getting the best out of people.
- Reliable with admin — rotas, stock, cash handling, reporting — and a genuine eye for detail.
- Flexible and adaptable, comfortable switching gears quickly when priorities change.
