PAYE Position – Permanent Employment
The Role
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day maintenance operations across the assigned properties, ensuring high standards of repair, presentation, health & safety and statutory compliance. The successful candidate will lead by example, supervising maintenance activities, coordinating contractors and supporting the maintenance team to deliver an efficient and responsive service.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support the day-to-day activities of the maintenance team.
- Allocate and prioritise maintenance tasks to ensure works are completed efficiently.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the portfolio.
- Undertake general repairs including basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, decorating and general building maintenance.
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets company standards.
- Report significant maintenance issues and building defects to the Facilities or Property Manager.
- Coordinate and supervise external contractors whilst on site, ensuring work is completed safely and to the required standard.
- Ensure contractors comply with company Health & Safety procedures and permit-to-work systems where applicable.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, job logs and compliance documentation.
- Identify materials, equipment and supplies required, monitoring stock levels and ordering where necessary.
- Conduct routine property inspections to identify maintenance issues before they become major defects.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with Health & Safety legislation and company policies.
- Support the induction and training of new maintenance team members.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues when required.
- Participate in an on-call rota or occasional weekend working during peak operational periods.
- Travel between company properties as required.
- Promote excellent customer service when interacting with guests, residents and colleagues.
About You
You will have previous experience in building maintenance together with experience supervising maintenance staff or contractors. You will be organised, proactive and able to prioritise workloads across multiple sites.
Essential
- Previous experience in a maintenance, facilities or building services role.
- Supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of general building maintenance.
- Experience of painting and decorating.
- Basic plumbing and electrical maintenance experience.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- IT literate with experience using email and basic Microsoft Office applications.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Full UK driving licence (preferred).
Desirable
- Experience within hotels, residential accommodation or hospitality.
- Health & Safety qualification (IOSH, NEBOSH or equivalent).
- Trade qualification (electrical, plumbing, carpentry or similar).

Pay: £35,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
