Location: Any BBC UK office (Hybrid)
Proposed Salary Range: £70,000 - £90,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
This role helps Product Group engage third-party suppliers in a simple, consistent and well-governed way.
You'll provide expert advice, guidance and governance throughout the supplier lifecycle, helping Product and Engineering teams navigate commercial processes, make informed decisions and access external capability efficiently. By developing standards, improving ways of working and reducing friction, you'll help create a better experience for teams while ensuring supplier engagements remain compliant and commercially robust.
WHY JOIN THE TEAM
You'll play a key role in shaping how Product Group works with external partners. Working across Product, Engineering, Procurement, Legal and Finance, you'll influence supplier engagement, improve governance and make it easier for teams to access the capability they need to deliver great digital products.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
- Provide expert advice and guidance on supplier engagement, governance and commercial best practice.
- Support Product and Engineering teams through supplier sourcing, onboarding and engagement activities.
- Develop and continuously improve supplier governance, standards, guidance and playbooks.
- Identify commercial, contractual and governance risks, recommending practical mitigations.
- Partner with Procurement, Legal and Finance to ensure supplier engagements align with BBC policies and standards.
- Simplify supplier engagement processes, improving the experience for Product and Engineering teams.
- Drive continuous improvement across Product Group's third-party operating model and governance practices.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Experience advising on supplier, commercial or governance activities within a technology or digital environment.
- Strong understanding of supplier governance, procurement or contract management principles.
- Experience developing governance frameworks, standards or operational guidance.
- Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide pragmatic advice.
- Experience working across multiple teams in a complex organisation.
DESIRABLE
- Experience working in fast-paced, product-led technology organisations.
- Knowledge of Product Operating Models.
- Experience supporting sourcing exercises or commercial evaluations.
- Experience improving organisation-wide operating models or governance frameworks.
- Experience working in a large, complex organisation.
- Experience of working with Jira and Atlassian products.
