Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Chef to join our Catering Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a large-scale healthcare catering environment, preparing high-quality meals for patients, staff and visitors while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, nutrition and customer service.
As a Chef, you will play a vital role in delivering attractive, nutritious and appetising meals that meet a wide range of dietary, allergen and nutritional requirements. Your commitment to quality and excellence will help ensure a positive dining experience for everyone who uses our services
There are 2 posts available with the following hours: -
Post 1 - 37.5 hrs to be worked 06:00 - 14:00 and 10.30 - 18:30 over various days as part of 4 week rota
Post 2 - 30 hours to be worked 06:00 - 14:00 and 10.30 - 18:30 over various days as part of 4 week rota
Prepare and cook a variety of meals to a high standard, including special diets and allergen-controlled meals
Follow recipes, production methods and NHS catering standards to ensure consistency and quality
Ensure compliance with food safety legislation, HACCP procedures and allergen management requirements
Monitor food quality, temperatures and production records, maintaining accurate documentation.
Assist with stock control, ordering and minimising food waste.
Support and supervise catering assistants and contribute to staff induction and training.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and health and safety at all times.
Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors and colleagues
