Salary: £12.88 per hour plus service charge
Hours: minimum 24 hrs per week (3 shifts of 8 hours) flexible up to 40 hours
Jesmond Dene House is seeking a skilled and keen Gardener to join our team. You will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the appearance of our garden. This is a hands-on role that requires knowledge of various gardening techniques and tools.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular garden maintenance tasks such as watering, weeding, pruning, and fertilizing
- Plant and transplant flowers, shrubs, trees, and other plants
- Operate hand tools and power tools to maintain garden beds and lawns
- Monitor plant health and identify any pests or diseases
- Assist with landscape maintenance projects, including mulching, edging, and trimming
- Collaborate with the team to design and implement garden improvements
- Ensure that all gardening equipment is properly cleaned, maintained, and stored
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in gardening or groundskeeping preferred
- Knowledge of irrigation systems and techniques for efficient watering
- Familiarity with a variety of hand tools and power tools used in gardening
- Understanding of plant growth cycles and basic horticulture principles
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that may require lifting heavy objects or working in various weather conditions.
