Have you a passion for early years? We are looking for a deputy manager to join our dynamic team CHILL OUT @ HIRST based in Hirst Welfare Centre.
The successful candidate will aid the creation a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment, ensuring that the curriculum and teaching being delivered are of a high quality, and is inclusive.
The role involves working closely with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure high standards of care and education are maintained and EYFS standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the planning and delivering of engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development in line with EYFS.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where children feel valued and secure.
- Support our systems that monitor and assess each child's progress, maintaining accurate records of development milestones.
- Support children's social, emotional, and behavioural needs through positive guidance strategies.
- Collaborate with colleagues to organise daily routines, activities, and special events.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and any concerns.
- Supervise children both indoors and outdoors, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Assist in managing the nursery team by providing leadership support when necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the childcare environment according to health and safety regulations.
- Be confident in making safeguarding decisions, following the correct policy and procedure.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children within a nursery or early years setting.
- Experience of strong management and leadership skills
- Knowledge of early childhood education frameworks and best practices.
- Excellent communication skills in English (Grade 4 minimum), both verbal and written.
- Childcare qualifications recognised within the UK (e.g. Level 3 full and relevant or higher, as recognised by the Department of Education).
- Ability to organise activities effectively while managing multiple priorities.
- A caring attitude combined with patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for working with young children.
- Commitment to safeguarding policies and procedures in line with statutory requirements.

Pay: £25,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
