Electrician – RAF Valley

Salary: £34,320 - £37,440 (DOE)
Hours: 40 hours per week
We are seeking an experienced Electrician to join our expanding team supporting Ministry of Defence (MOD) and Royal Air Force (RAF) sites at RAF Valley. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and motivated electrician looking for long-term stability, a varied workload, and a professional working environment within secure facilities.
Job Overview
You will be responsible for carrying out electrical maintenance, repairs, testing, and installation works across MOD and RAF sites. Your day-to-day duties will include:
- Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPMs) on electrical systems and equipment.
- Reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair works.
- Attending electrical breakdowns and emergency callouts.
- Small electrical installation and modification works.
- Electrical testing, inspection, and fault finding.
- Supporting larger refurbishment, lifecycle replacement, and infrastructure projects across the estate.
- Working collaboratively with the site team to ensure compliance and safe working practices.
- Completing all job documentation and certification accurately using electronic systems.
Systems & Areas You Will Work On
- Lighting systems and emergency lighting.
- Small power and distribution systems.
- Electrical plant and equipment.
- Distribution boards and final circuits.
- Electrical containment and wiring systems.
- Fire alarm interfaces (where applicable).
- Accommodation blocks, offices, workshops, hangars, and support facilities.
- Associated building services and MOD site infrastructure.
Requirements & Qualifications
We are looking for a reliable and competent Electrician with experience in commercial, industrial, facilities management, or maintenance environments. The ideal candidate will have:
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
- City & Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- AM2 qualification.
- ECS Gold Card (preferred).
- Inspection & Testing (2391/2394 & 2395) desirable but not essential.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience carrying out planned and reactive maintenance.
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety practices.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Experience working within MOD, Defence, Facilities Management, Healthcare, Commercial or Industrial environments would be advantageous but is not essential.

Please Note: All engineers must be able to pass BPSS Security Clearance to work on Ministry of Defence establishments. Participation in an out-of-hours call-out rota will be required as part of this role.
Pay: £34,320.00-£37,440.00 per year
Work Location: In person
