What you will be doing in the role:
- Provide coordination and administrative support to projects and programmes across the Directorate.
- Maintain project documentation, plans, logs and records, ensuring accuracy and version control.
- Organise and support project meetings, workshops and governance forums, including agendas, minutes and action tracking.
- Monitor project risks, issues, dependencies and milestones, identifying mitigations and escalating concerns where required.
- Lead allocated project workstreams, coordinating stakeholders and tracking delivery progress.
- Prepare and quality‑assure reports, presentations, dashboards and governance papers for project boards.
- Support stakeholder engagement, including stakeholder mapping, communication planning and drafting engagement materials.
- Analyse project information and performance data to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
- Assist with planning and delivering workshops and engagement events.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, helping refine project delivery processes, tools and ways of working.
- Provide general support to ensure effective delivery of transformation and service improvement initiatives.
What are we looking for?
To be successful in this role you will have:
- An understanding of the systems, processes and practices that support effective project delivery.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Excellent organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Confidence working both independently and collaboratively in fast‑moving environments.
- The ability to provide clear advice and guidance, adapting your communication style to suit different audiences.
- Competence in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint, with the ability to collect, analyse and present data.
- A basic understanding of highways, transport and planning.
