Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home
Location: South East England (exact location available on application)
Salary: £65,000 + Bonus (up to £10,000)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent (37.5 hours + on-call duties)
We’re working with a well-backed children’s residential care provider to recruit an experienced Registered Manager to lead a 4-bed Ofsted-registered children’s home.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for an established Registered Manager with a strong track record of delivering high-quality care and positive Ofsted outcomes, who is looking to join a provider committed to excellence, development, and long-term growth.
The Role
As Registered Manager, you will take full responsibility for the leadership, compliance, and performance of the home, ensuring it consistently operates in line with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining and leading Ofsted registration and inspection readiness
- Managing and developing the Deputy Manager and wider care team
- Driving a high-performance, child-centred culture
- Leading safeguarding strategy and ensuring robust systems are in place
- Implementing quality assurance frameworks and continuous improvement plans
- Managing budgets, staffing, and operational performance
- Leading on investigations, safeguarding responses, and HR processes where required
- Building strong relationships with Ofsted, local authorities, and external stakeholders
You will play a key role in shaping the service, ensuring children receive safe, nurturing, and outcome-focused care.
The Ideal Candidate
We’re keen to speak with candidates who have:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare
- Proven experience as a Registered Manager within children’s residential care
- A strong history of achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted outcomes
- In-depth knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations, safeguarding, and SCCIF
- Experience leading teams, managing performance, and driving service improvement
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
Additional knowledge of trauma-informed or therapeutic approaches (e.g. DDP) would be advantageous.
