Pip's is a family-run, outdoor café and restaurant in South Petherton. We serve consistently excellent, freshly made food in a relaxed, busy, and slightly quirky setting, and we look after our guests properly. We are a small, close-knit team, and we care about getting the details right.
The Role
This is a part-time role built around our Saturday service, the busiest shift of our week. We are looking for an experienced barista who can step straight onto a busy bar and run it with confidence from day one.
This is not a training role. You would need to make our drinks to spec, keep your station clean under pressure, and stay warm and steady when service is full on.
It could suit someone in sixth form, college, or university who wants a regular Saturday, with more hours available during the school holidays.
Key Details
- Saturdays are essential, roughly 9am to 5pm. We need someone who can commit to Saturdays as their regular weekly shift.
- Two Friday evening event shifts per month. These are our evening events, so some Friday evening availability is needed.
- Additional weekday shifts often available during the school holidays.
- We are closed Sundays and Mondays.

- Someone who can pick up a busy Saturday quickly, with little hand-holding
- A genuine interest in good food, drink, and hospitality

- A keen eye for detail, and the ability to multitask on the go
- Willingness to learn, grow, and contribute to a close team
What you would be doing
- Setting up and running the coffee bar to our service standards
- Preparing drinks to our specifications
- Building strong knowledge of our menus
- Taking orders, serving food and drink, and engaging warmly with guests
- Supporting end-of-service cleaning and reset
Pay and tips
- £12.71 per hour
- Tips added an average of £1.88 per hour over the past twelve months. This is not guaranteed and is at the discretion of our guests.
