Permanent Primary base: Ysgol Gymraeg Ystalyfera Bro Dur – Bro Dur Campus
The Governing Body is seeking to appoint a proactive, skilled and forward-thinking Digital Systems Manager, primarily based at the Bro Dur campus, to support the school’s technical operations, digital presence and ICT-based examination processes.
Working closely with the Digital Systems Manager (Ystalyfera Campus), the post-holder will co-manage the ICT Support Team to ensure consistent, high-quality ICT provision across both sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the school’s ICT infrastructure to ensure reliable, secure and efficient day-to-day operations, with a primary focus on the Bro Dur campus.
- Work collaboratively with the Digital Systems Manager (Ystalyfera Campus) to co-manage the ICT Support Team, ensuring coordinated service delivery across both campuses.
- Support the school’s digital and technical development, contributing to
long-term planning and innovation.
- Safeguard the integrity of the school’s network, systems, data and wider digital environment.
- Oversee specialist curriculum and resource functions linked to ICT.
- Contribute to the development and organisation of systems, procedures and policies across the school.
- Provide training and development to enhance digital competence and
confidence.
- Manage the school’s digital media channels to promote achievements, events and wider school life.
- Work independently, demonstrating initiative and strong organisational skills.
Examinations Administration – Bro Dur Campus
- Provide ICT support for examinations and assessments delivered electronically.
- Manage and maintain exam-specific software used for entries, candidate access, controlled assessments and digital submissions.
- Support the Exams Officer with ICT-related tasks including exam entries,
candidate data, seating plans and rooming for ICT-based examinations.
- Ensure examination systems, devices and networks are prepared, tested and compliant with awarding-body requirements.
- Provide technical support during exam sessions to ensure smooth and secure delivery.
