Grooming Marvellous is a busy independent grooming salon based in Hoddesdon. We are looking for a reliable, friendly, hard-working and experienced dog groomer to join our small team. We are open to discussing part-time days, to help find a match between the employee’s needs with our business needs, however working some Saturdays is a must! we can offer as little as one day a week or up to 4 days a week.
We are looking for a groomer who has at least 2 years’ experience and has a good understanding of breed-standard grooms and how to adapt to pet styles . You must be able to work independently and to a high standard and willing to groom to the same standards as our customers are used to and be able to groom at least 5 dogs per day. All our staff need to be reliable, good at time keeping, calm, honest, friendly and be able to work well in a team.
We have 2 bathing assistants here at grooming Marvellous, so bathing all your own dogs is not nessacery but we do all muck in together as a team on busy days to help each other out. we are very focused on working as a team here.
You will also be responsible for:
- Face to face consulting with the clients
- Occasionally preparing dogs for grooming (washing, drying and brushing / de-matting dogs)
- Grooming dogs (of all sizes)
- Cleaning and sterilising the washing and grooming areas
- General admin tasks
-Answering the phone and booking in appointments
- Any other tasks as required for the business
Salary pay.
Start date: as soon as possible.
Hours - Tuesday to Friday 9.30am - 4.30pm. Saturday 9am - 4pm
Please note: That only applications with proven dog grooming experience will be considered. Skills and knowledge will be tested during the interview.
This position is mainly to help in aid in the assistance of maternity cover for early next year. Additional training will also be given if needed.
Part-time - day or days can be chosen by you
Grooming Marvellous is also home to GM Academy. We will occasionally have students in and you may be asked to watch over temporarily if the head stylist is busy.
