A fantastic opportunity has arisen within Nelsons Butchers to join our family run business as a Shop Assistant & Sandwich Maker, based in our Stamford shops. We are looking for a hardworking, responsible, reliable, versatile, and flexible person to fulfil this role.

Job Responsibilities
- Opening & closing of our Stamford stores.
- Setting and topping up service counters
- Stock Rotation & Date checking
- Food preparation & Sandwich making
- Serving customers to a high standard and with a positive attitude.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the food prep area and equipment in compliance with food safety regulations
- Daily cashing up
- Assisting in our Rutland stores – when holidays/sickness cover is required.
Person Specification
- Experience in retail is ideal however training will be given
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong Organisation abilities with attention to detail.
- A passion for food and Sandwich Making
- Ability to upsell products confidently to increase sales while providing excellent customer service
- No butchery skills required
- Full Clean Driving License
Hours of Work and Benefit – Postion 1
- £12.71 per hour– paid 4 weekly. To be reviewed after a successful 3 month probation period.
- Week One: 12.5 hours / Week Two: 20 hours
- Monday 10am – 4pm
- Thursday 7.30am – 2.30pm
- Saturday 8am – 4pm (Every other Saturday)
- ½ hour unpaid break, when working for more than 6 hours.
- Flexibility will be required during peak periods, holidays and sickness
- Company Pension Scheme
- 14 days holiday (including bank holidays)
Hours of Work and Benefit – Postion 2
- £12.71 per hour– paid 4 weekly. To be reviewed after a successful 3 month probation period.
- Week One: 15 hours / Week Two: 22 hours
- Tuesday 7.30am – 2.30pm Broad Street
- Thursday 12pm – 3pm Red Lion Square
- Friday 9am-3pm Broad Street
- Saturday 8am – 4pm Red Lion Square (Every other Saturday)
- ½ hour unpaid break, when working for more than 6 hours.
- Flexibility will be required during peak periods, holidays and sickness

- 20 days holiday (including bank holidays)
Pay: From £12.71 per hour
Expected hours: 12.5 – 22.0 per week
