We are looking for an experienced and motivated Prep Chef to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a chef who enjoys working with quality ingredients, wants to sharpen their knife skills, learn efficient kitchen systems, and develop towards a Chef de Partie or Sous Chef position in the future.

About the Role
As our Prep Chef, you will play a vital role in ensuring the kitchen is fully prepared for service. Working closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team, you will be responsible for producing high-quality prep to specification, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently.
You will be expected to work with speed, accuracy, and consistency, ensuring all preparation is completed to recipe specifications and ready for service deadlines. The successful candidate will take ownership of prep organisation, stock rotation, and maintaining excellent standards throughout the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing ingredients and menu components to recipe specifications
- Working from prep lists and daily production schedules
- Maintaining excellent standards of food quality and consistency
- Ensuring all prep is completed accurately and on time for service
- Rotating stock correctly and following FIFO procedures
- Managing fridge and freezer organisation and stock levels
- Monitoring ingredient usage and communicating stock requirements
- Ensuring the correct levels of prep are available for service at all times
- Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety
- Following instructions accurately and contributing positively to the kitchen team
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen as a Prep Chef or similar role
- Strong knife skills and confidence working with fresh ingredients
- Experience working to recipes and production specifications
- Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and accurately under pressure
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise tasks and consistently meet deadlines
- Good understanding of stock rotation, storage, and food safety procedures
- Ability to follow instructions and kitchen systems effectively
- Positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic
- A genuine passion for fresh food and quality ingredients
