We make the Tiny Desk Radar, a small desktop gadget that shows live aircraft and ships moving around any place in the world you choose. It's designed here in Kent, and we're now building our first production run of units. We need careful, hands-on people to assemble, test, pack and ship them.
No electronics background required. If you're good with your hands, take pride in doing things properly, and like the idea of helping a small local company ship a genuinely well-made product across the world, then apply to join the team.
What you'll be doing
- Assembling units - fitting display modules, circuit boards, knobs and faceplates into enclosures using hand tools
- Loading and testing firmware - training will be given
- Quality-checking each unit before it ships: cosmetic inspection of enclosures and finishes
- Preparing and finishing 3D-printed parts from our in-house print farm
- Packing finished units to our packaging spec
- Picking, labelling and dispatching orders, including international shipments
- Keeping accurate build and test records
- Keeping the workspace tidy and organised
What we offer
- Training included
- A small, friendly team building a real product
- 28 days holiday including bank holidays (pro rata for part-time/temporary)
- Workplace pension
This is a temporary position that could lead to a permanent role if the business requires it, and if you're a good fit.
