We’re working with a growing online retail business to recruit an experienced Senior Accounts Assistant into a hands-on finance role supporting the day-to-day financial operations of a busy and evolving organisation.
This is a varied position suited to someone who enjoys taking ownership of their workload, maintaining high levels of accuracy and looking for practical ways to improve processes and efficiency.
The Role
- Processing and verifying supplier invoices and managing accounts payable
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving payment queries
- Recording and reconciling income across multiple revenue streams and payment methods
- Completing bank reconciliations and identifying discrepancies
- Supporting preparation of financial reports and management information
- Assisting with month-end processes and preparation of financial statements
- Supporting payroll administration and maintaining accurate payroll records
- Liaising with suppliers, internal teams and external accountants as required
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring appropriate controls are followed
- Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes, efficiency and accuracy
- Supporting wider finance and commercial projects as required
What We’re Looking For
We’re interested in speaking with experienced accounts professionals who can demonstrate:
- Previous experience within an Accounts Assistant, Senior Accounts Assistant, Bookkeeper or similar finance role
- Strong accounts payable, reconciliation and transactional finance experience
- Confidence working independently and managing competing priorities
- Good commercial awareness and strong attention to detail
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Strong IT capability and confidence working with accounting and financial systems
- A proactive approach to process improvement and operational efficiency
- An open-minded approach to adopting new technology, including the appropriate use of AI tools to improve productivity and working practices
Experience within ecommerce, online retail or another fast-moving commercial environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
