As our Bristol portfolio continues to expand, we are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Operative / Handyman to join us on a full-time or part-time basis.
The Role
This is a hands-on, varied role offering autonomy, consistency, and long-term opportunity. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving our properties across Bristol, ensuring they remain safe, functional, and presented to a high standard for tenants and guests.
The role will also involve supporting other Boyce Group building sites across Bristol.
Salary - £40,000 - £42,000 per annum DOE
Hours - 50 hours per week (weekend & evening availability are essential)
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across residential and serviced accommodation properties
- Decorating, basic plumbing, carpentry, and general woodwork
- Identifying faults and resolving issues efficiently and professionally
- Supporting multiple Boyce Group sites across Bristol
- Responding to occasional emergency call-outs when required (part of the overall salary package)
- Interacting professionally with tenants, guests, and site teams
- Managing workload effectively and working independently
Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Proven experience in property maintenance or a similar trade-based role
- Strong decorating, plumbing, and carpentry/woodwork skills
- Own tools and reliable transport
- Self-motivated with excellent time management
- Professional, reliable, and comfortable dealing with tenants and guests
- Basic computer literacy, including the ability to receive, update, and communicate jobs or tasks via email, mobile apps, or digital job systems
Desirable:
- Understanding of basic electrics
- Experience working across multiple properties or sites
Travel
- Primarily Bristol-based
- Occasional travel to Cardiff, Newport, and Chippenham
- Mileage between sites
