We are seeking a passionate and dedicated teaching assistant to join our friendly and committed team. As we are such a small school, this role requires flexibility and ability to work independently, make decisions and also action the work of the leadership team.
Job Details
Job title: Teaching Assistant
Salary: £25,185 - £25,583 FTE.
Hours: 8.30am-3pm including half an hour unpaid lunch break (18 hours per week). Term time only.
Contract type: Part time, permanent

What You Need to Succeed
Supporting pupils
- Build positive relationships with pupils and support pupils with their social, emotional and mental health needs
- Adapt communication style to respond to pupils according to their individual needs and assist with the development and delivery of individual education and support plans
- Promote high standards of behaviour.
Teaching and learning
- Contribute to the planning of learning activities for all pupils including those with special educational needs (SEN).
- Provide regular feedback to teachers on pupil progress, attainment and barriers to learning
- Supervise a class if the teacher is temporarily unavailable
Working with staff, parents/carers and relevant professionals
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers under the direction of teachers
- Collaborate and work with colleagues and other relevant professionals within and beyond the school
- Develop effective professional relationships with colleagues and contribute to the overall ethos, aims and work of the school
Safeguarding
- Work in line with statutory safeguarding guidance and our safeguarding/child protection policies.
- Promote the safeguarding of all pupils in the school
Professional development
- Take opportunities to build the appropriate skills, qualifications, and/or experience needed for the role, with support from the school
- Take part in the school’s appraisal procedures
