Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Gardener to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing outdoor spaces for residential and commercial properties, ensuring they are healthy, vibrant, and aesthetically pleasing. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, applying horticultural knowledge and practical skills to create beautiful landscapes. the right candidate will need to be able to adapt to each job and use their intuition on tasks. Some days we will follow the customers direction on what work they would like completing, some days you will need to use intuition to gauge what jobs to focus on. The position is suitable for individuals with a keen interest in gardening and landscape maintenance. Horticultural knowledge is beneficial but not a requirement, the right candidate will be motivated To work out doors in a range of weather conditions, they will be adaptable if plans need to change due to unforeseen circumstances such as rain or extreme heat, and willing/flexible to take on additional work when required.
Responsibilities
- Planting, pruning, watering, and fertilising plants to promote healthy growth
- Using hand tools such as secateurs, spades, and rakes for garden maintenance
- Operating power tools including lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, and leaf blowers safely and efficiently
- Managing landscape features such as flower beds, lawns, shrubs, and trees
- Assisting with seasonal planting and garden redesigns as required
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the work area and disposing of garden waste responsibly
- Supporting team members in landscape projects and general upkeep tasks
Skills
- Proven experience in gardening or horticulture is highly desirable
- horticultural licences such as pa1/pa6 and cs30/cs31 are desirable.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in landscape maintenance
- An interest in gardening and a willingness to learn about plant care and professional gardening as a career
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Organised with good attention to detail and safety procedures
- Physical fitness to perform manual tasks including digging, lifting, and standing for extended periods
- A good level of customer service, understanding how to interact with different customers in a professional environment.

Pay: £12.71-£14.50 per hour
