Proclad Developments Ltd is looking for a skilled and detail-focused CAD Draftsman to join our team. With more than 35 years’ experience, we deliver high-quality roofing, cladding and façade solutions across commercial, industrial, leisure, education, health and retail projects—from pre-construction planning and technical design through to installation and aftercare.
This is an excellent opportunity for a draftsman with construction experience who enjoys turning technical information into clear, accurate drawings for live projects.
THE ROLE
Working alongside our design, commercial, contracts and site teams, you will produce accurate technical drawings to support the delivery of roofing, cladding and façade projects.
You will work on a range of building-envelope systems, including composite panels, rainscreen cladding, standing-seam roofing, single-ply membrane roof build-ups, flashings, trims and rainwater goods.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Produce detailed CAD drawings, including plans, elevations, sections and fabrication details.
· Interpret architectural and structural drawings, specifications and survey information.
· Prepare drawing packages for client approval, manufacture and installation.
· Develop accurate details for roofing, cladding and façade systems.
· Coordinate drawings with project managers, site teams, architects and suppliers.
· Incorporate design changes and maintain clear drawing revisions.
· Support material take-offs and technical information for procurement and project teams.
· Maintain organised drawing registers and project files, and help identify practical, buildable solutions.
· Work to project programmes and deliver drawings to agreed deadlines.
ABOUT YOU
You will have experience producing technical drawings in a construction, fabrication, roofing, cladding or building-envelope environment. You will be accurate, organised and confident working with several live projects at once. You must have proven experience producing technical drawings for roofing and cladding projects. Experience of façades, steelwork or fabrication would also be beneficial.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
· Previous experience as a CAD Draftsman, CAD Technician or in a similar technical drawing role.
· Strong AutoCAD skills and the ability to produce clear, accurate 2D drawings.
· Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications and detailing.
· Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to checking work.
· Good communication skills and the ability to work closely with colleagues and external contacts.
· Ability to manage priorities and meet project deadlines.
· Essential experience of roofing and cladding systems; knowledge of façades, building-envelope systems, 3D modelling or Revit would be an advantage.
