Due to an impending retirement, we are currently recruiting for an Assembly Operative to join our well-established engineering business. This is a great opportunity to become part of a collaborative team, working in a busy environment where quality and efficiency are key.
Location: Washington, Tyne and Wear
Hours: 39 Hours Per Week - 7.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Thursday, and 7.30am - 12.30 on Friday.
Salary: TBC
Duration: Permanent
Who are we?
We are PDQ Engineering, a leading sub-contract engineering company in the UK, supplying quality components to multiple sectors including medical, oil & gas, and automotive.
Duties to Include:
· Assembling products in line with company standards and work instructions
· Using an assembly press - full training will be given
· Following engineering drawings and assembly documentation
· Cleaning, de-burring and packaging of finished components in preparation for despatch to customer
· Ensuring all work is completed to high quality and production standards
· Visual inspection of completed components, identifying any potential faults / damage, under inspection. A sharp eye is essential
· Maintaining accurate records using relevant company documentation
· Checking and maintaining tools and equipment, reporting any issues
· Identifying and resolving assembly or process issues where possible
· Working to health & safety standards, including the correct use of PPE where necessary
· Cross-training across different assembly areas as required
· Supporting team output to meet production deadlines
Skills/Experience Required:
· Previous experience within an assembly, production or manufacturing environment
· Experience with assembly would be beneficial, but full training would be given
· A good attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately are absolutely vital
· A positive, team-focused attitude
· The ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
· Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
Pay: £13.00-£14.00 per hour
