About us
Triumph AV is a growing company based in Boughton, Nottinghamshire, built around a simple belief: our engineers are our business. Working primarily in the commercial sector, we specialise in delivering high-quality, integrated AV solutions and we invest heavily in the people who make that happen. If you want to sharpen your craft, take on ambitious projects and be backed by a management team that genuinely cares how you're getting on, you'll fit right in.
The role
We're looking for experience Structured Cabling/Network Engineers who want to become AV Engineers. We're hiring two to three over the coming months.
You already know how to pull, terminate and certify a structured cabling install properly. We'll put that to work from day one, and we'll train you in to AV alongside it. Day to day, you'll:
- Install, terminate and certify structured cabling on commercial sites
- Install containment, Unistrut and mount equipment, plus dress cables into racks.
- Work alongside a close-knit team of AV engineers, learning the AV side as you go
- Take on more of the AV install and integration work as your training progresses
- Get hands on with the latest, ever evolving AV technology
How we'll train you into AV
This isn't a vague promise of "development opportunities". You'll start with a one week in house AV course run by one of our own engineers, covering the fundamentals of audio, video and control, and how we bring it all together. After that you're on site with experienced AV engineers who are expected to bring you on, not just get through the job.
Your structured cabling skills don't get forgotten. AV runs on network infrastructure, and cabling work stays a real part of what you do. What changes is how much of the AV system you're trusted to install and integrate yourself.
Let's be straight about the travel
This is a site-based role, you'll be working at client locations, not sat behind a desk. Many of our projects are across the UK and Europe, so there's a meaningful amount of time away from home: typically away Monday to Friday, home for the weekend. We won't dress that up. What we will do is keep things predictable, standard hours are 8:00am–4:00pm, Monday to Friday and make the time away as smooth and well-supported as we can, including a £25 nightly subsistence allowance for every night you're away. If a steady routine and seeing new places as part of the job appeals to you, this could be a great fit.
What you'll bring
- Hands on experience installing structured cabling on commercial sites
- Confident terminating RJ45, patch panels, keystones and modules up to Cat6a
- Testing and certifying with a Fluke or Trend certifier
- Comfortable working with containment and Unistrut, and mounting equipment over 20kg
- Neat, methodical cable management inside racks (we care about this more than most)
- A valid ECS card
- A genuine appetite to learn AV and build a career in a new industry
- Happy to spend the working week away from home, on projects across the UK and abroad
- A full UK driving licence
Nice to have (not essential)
- IPAF
- PASMA
- Fibre Splicing
- EFAW
- Any previous exposure to AV, security systems, electrical or fire alarms.
