Wheatley Pharmacy is a purpose-built, modern health centre pharmacy located in the heart of Wheatley, Oxfordshire. As an independent community pharmacy, we take pride in delivering a friendly, personalised, and professional service to our patients.
We are one of the largest dispensing sites in Oxfordshire and operate one of the largest private travel health clinics in England, offering an exciting and fast-paced working environment with opportunities to develop new skills. Our team regularly includes two to three pharmacists on site, ensuring a high level of professional support and collaboration.
We work closely with local GPs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional care across both NHS and private services. We also offer full training and ongoing development, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to progress within community pharmacy.
Job description & Key Responsibilities:
- Dispensing & workflow: Accurately assemble/label NHS & private prescriptions; manage Electronic Prescriptions, owings and end-of-day checks; prepare compliance aids where required.
- Governance & safety: Work to SOPs/GPhC standards and IG requirements; complete routine checks/records (e.g., temperatures, date checks, incidents); keep the dispensary clean and safe.
- Stock control: Order, receive and rotate stock; handle cold-chain items correctly; manage expiries and returns.
- Patient service: Provide courteous counter/phone support; give basic OTC/self-care advice within competence and refer to the Pharmacist; coordinate deliveries and EPS nominations.
- Services support & teamwork: Assist with NHS/private services (e.g., vaccinations, travel, weight management, ear care); handle booking/prep/documentation; contribute to audits, submissions and ongoing training/CPD.
Essential skills and requirements are:
- Experience is not necessary however previous experience of working in a pharmacy is ideal. Full training will be provided nevertheless
