Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and versatile Multi Trader to join our Marina Operations team as our Lead Bosun. This is a hands-on role responsible for carrying out a wide range of planned and reactive maintenance tasks across the marina, buildings, and associated facilities, ensuring they remain safe, functional, and well-presented.
Working as part of the Bosuns team, you will undertake work across a variety of trades, including carpentry, plumbing, basic electrical repairs, decorating, and general maintenance. You will also support wider operational activities, respond to maintenance issues efficiently, and contribute to delivering a high standard of service to customers and colleagues.
This position is based on a 42.5-hour working week, operating on a 7-day rota, which includes weekends and bank holidays as required.
Duties
- Carry out general maintenance and repairs to marina facilities, buildings, pontoons, company equipment, and company craft as required.
- Undertake basic multi-trade works including carpentry, plumbing, decorating, and general repairs.
- Assist with the movement, berthing, launching, lifting, and mooring of customer and company vessels both within the marina and at external moorings.
- Monitor vessel movements and communicate berth allocations and movements with the Marina Office.
- Connect and disconnect electrical supplies to vessels in accordance with marina procedures and monitor usage where required.
- Inspect pontoons, walkways, moorings, and marina infrastructure, reporting defects and carrying out minor repairs where appropriate.
- Report any damage, defects, hazards, or missing equipment to the appropriate manager.
- Liaise professionally with berth holders, tenants, contractors, visitors, and members of the public, providing excellent customer service at all times.
- Assist with maintaining a clean, tidy, safe, and welcoming marina environment.
- Support contractors working on site and ensure safe working practices are followed.
- Comply with all Health & Safety policies, environmental procedures, and marina operating standards.
- Assist colleagues across the marina operation during busy periods and undertake other reasonable duties as required.
Skills and Experience
- Experience in a practical maintenance, facilities, or marina environment.
- Good general maintenance skills with experience of basic carpentry, plumbing, decorating, or similar trades.
- Experience working safely in an outdoor operational environment.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritise work.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
