LaunchPad Sports is launching a new network of junior basketball and netball clubs across West Yorkshire in September 2026, and we are looking for enthusiastic Netball Coaches to become part of the programme.
Our new community teams will provide weekly training, competitive fixtures, festivals and tournaments for children in Years 3–6, with teams competing across three regional leagues.
The Role
Netball sessions will take place on Sunday mornings, working with children from Years 3–6.
Coaches will deliver fun, engaging sessions that introduce children to netball and help more experienced players continue developing their skills and understanding of the game.
Our priority is creating an environment children enjoy being part of. Sessions should be active, inclusive and built around playing the game rather than children spending long periods waiting or listening.
The role will include:
- Delivering weekly netball training sessions
- Coaching children across Years 3–6
- Leading games, challenges and small sided activities
- Developing fundamental netball skills and game understanding
- Preparing players for fixtures and tournaments
- Coaching teams during competitive matches
- Supporting children completely new to netball
- Creating a positive and inclusive team environment
- Representing LaunchPad and the local community team
Who We're Looking For
We would like to hear from netball coaches, players, PE teachers, sports coaches and others with a strong background in the game.
Coaching qualifications are desirable, but we're equally interested in people with playing or coaching experience who have the personality and enthusiasm to work with children.
You should be:
- Confident working with primary school aged children
- Enthusiastic about netball
- Reliable and available on Sunday mornings
- Positive, energetic and approachable
- Comfortable leading groups and matches
- Committed to making sport enjoyable for children of all abilities
Successful applicants will be required to meet our safeguarding requirements, including an Enhanced DBS check.
More Than a Sunday Job
This is part of a much larger community programme, with opportunities for coaches to take on additional teams, tournaments, school sessions, holiday camps and other work across LaunchPad Sports.
