Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Pastry Chef to lead our pastry team and oversee the creation of exquisite baked goods and desserts. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation, whilst inspiring creativity within the kitchen. Duties
- Alongside Head pastry chef lead and manage the pastry kitchen team, providing guidance and training to ensure consistency and excellence in all baked goods and desserts.
- Alongside Head pastry chef, Develop innovative pastry menus that align with the restaurant’s concept and seasonal ingredients.
- Alongside Head pastry chef, Oversee all aspects of food production, including food preparation, baking, and presentation of pastries, cakes, chocolates, and other confections.
- Alongside Head pastry chef, Ensure compliance with food safety standards and maintain cleanliness in accordance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with the head chef and management team to plan menus, monitor inventory levels, and control costs effectively.
- Maintain high standards of quality control throughout the entire pastry production process.
- Monitor kitchen operations during service hours to ensure efficiency and timely delivery of orders.
- Stay updated on current culinary trends in pastry arts to keep offerings innovative and competitive.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food production, food preparation, cooking, and baking within a professional kitchen environment.
- Strong culinary experience specialising in pastry arts, with a thorough understanding of baking techniques and dessert presentation.
- Previous experience in a leadership role such as Head Pastry Chef or Sous Pastry Chef is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure.
- Experience working in a restaurant setting with a focus on high-quality service standards.
