Estate Operative (Maintenance / Handy Person) – Residential Blocks of Flats
Location: In person
Pay: £13.50 per hour (paid fortnightly or monthly)
Annual Leave: 20 days paid holiday + 8 days paid Bank Holidays

Job Overview
We are looking for a reliable and proactive Estate Operative (Maintenance / Handy Person) to help maintain the upkeep, cleanliness, and presentation of our estates. This is a hands-on role where attention to detail and a practical, versatile approach are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine inspections of the estate (buildings, grounds, and facilities) and identify maintenance/cleaning needs
- Perform minor repairs and general maintenance when required
- Maintain a tidy and well-presented estate (including litter picking and keeping bin areas clean and maintained)
- Assist with cleaning issues and minor on-site maintenance tasks
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff
- Follow all health and safety procedures during maintenance activities
- Maintain an appropriate stock of tools and materials and organise inventory as needed
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialist repairs or installations where required
- Keep records of work completed and report ongoing issues
Requirements
- Experience in general maintenance or handyman work is highly desirable
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high safety and quality standards
- Good organisational skills with strong attention to detail
- Physical fitness for manual tasks, including lifting, working outdoors, and climbing ladders
- Relevant certifications/qualifications are advantageous but not essential
