Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive, practical and reliable Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our team at Norfolk Premier Golf.
This is a varied, hands-on role supporting the upkeep, presentation and safe operation of our golf, driving range and wider leisure facilities. You will be responsible for maintaining outdoor areas to a high standard, carrying out routine grounds maintenance, operating machinery and equipment, and assisting with general maintenance and improvement projects across the site.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, horticulture or a similar practical role. Mechanical knowledge and confidence working with machinery and equipment would also be highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general grounds maintenance including mowing, strimming, pruning, hedge cutting, weeding, planting and turf care.
- Maintain paths, landscaped areas, entrances and other outdoor spaces to ensure they remain clean, safe and well presented.
- Operate grounds maintenance machinery and power tools safely and correctly, including mowers, strimmers, hedge trimmers, blowers and other equipment.
- Carry out basic maintenance and routine checks on tools, machinery and equipment, reporting or resolving faults where appropriate.
- Support improvement, installation and construction projects across the site when required.
- Carry out routine inspections of outdoor areas and identify hazards, defects or maintenance requirements.
- Assist with the maintenance and day-to-day operation of equipment associated with the driving range.
- Follow company health and safety procedures, risk assessments and safe working practices at all times.
- Work closely with the wider operational team to help maintain high standards across the entire site.
- Undertake other reasonable maintenance and grounds-related duties as required.
Experience & SkillsEssential
- Previous practical experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, horticulture, construction or a similar outdoor role.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools and grounds maintenance machinery.
- Ability to carry out physically demanding work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Good practical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
- A proactive approach to health and safety.
Desirable
- Basic mechanical or engineering knowledge and an ability to troubleshoot minor equipment faults.
- Experience maintaining or repairing grounds machinery.
- Knowledge of irrigation systems.
- Experience within a golf course, driving range, sports facility or leisure environment.
- Experience working with automated or robotic grounds equipment.
- Experience maintaining or troubleshooting robotic mowers and automated ball collection equipment.
- Familiarity with Power Tee or automated driving range tee systems, including routine cleaning, inspection and basic maintenance.
