Role Purpose:
To assess the quality of product through all stages of processing and despatch of final product, ensuring quality and safety standards of branded and own label products by efficient utilisation of all available resources, following Copernus’ code of practice and current legislation.
You are responsible for food safety, integrity, authenticity, legality and quality.
Responsibilities:
· Ensure appropriate attire is to be always worn when entering production areas.
· Work in co-ordination with the Production, Technical Manager to ensure GMP standards are maintained and adhered to; ensure all Critical Control Points (CCP’s)within the retail and wholesale department are implemented and monitored.
· Identify failings within GMP and implement all practicable steps to rectify them.
· Ensure product temperature testing and sensory assessment of starting materials, inclusive of packing materials, intermediates and finished products; · Monitor process conditions and all relevant aspects of the production environment, inclusive of all aspects of hygiene;
· Enforce and promote established procedures for materials and intermediates that are approved for use, rejected and/or designated for treatment intended to bring them within specification in accordance with obtained inspection and/or test results;
· Ensure rapid feedback of information, inclusive of advice if appropriate to manufacturing personnel to enable prompt adjustment and/or corrective action;
· Maintain good housekeeping, comply with and promote Company Food Hygiene and Environmental policies and ensure the Company operates in compliance with relevant legislation.
· Carry out any other duties within your remit as directed;
· Adopt ‘best practice’ in accordance with Company processes and procedures and adhere to Company policy guidelines
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Mandatory
· Previous experience in similar role
· Good standard of Education
· Basic Health & Safety
· Familiarity with HACCP systems
· Familiarity with Quality Systems and procedures
· Level 2 Food Hygiene
· Confident IT user
